In Year 6, science moves from observation to explanation: life cycles and adaptations, changes of state, light and sound, forces, the solar system and the water cycle. The Victorian Curriculum also expects students to plan fair tests, read simple tables and graphs and use the right vocabulary. This quiz samples Biological science, Chemical science, Physical science, Earth & space and Working scientifically at the easy and at-level tiers, so it is a good check that the core ideas and terms are in place before the more abstract work of secondary school.
