Primary school tutoring in Point Cook is mostly about foundations that were never quite locked in: letter sounds and blending in Prep and Year 1, regrouping in Year 2 and 3, times tables and fractions in Years 3 to 5, comprehension and structured writing in Years 5 and 6. From Year 3 to Year 6, small groups of three to five at the same level become the main format, from $25 an hour, with one-to-one at $35 for students who need it. Maths moves through multiplicative thinking, fractions, decimals and percentages, measurement and problem solving; English moves through comprehension strategies, spelling patterns, grammar and the two writing genres (persuasive and narrative) that NAPLAN assesses in Years 3 and 5. Year 5 and 6 students preparing for scholarship or selective-entry tests get a longer, more structured run-up with timed practice.

Our after-school window is 3:30 pm to 7 pm Monday to Thursday and 3:30 pm to 6 pm on Friday, in one-hour sessions. As a rule for Point Cook families the 4:30 pm and 5 pm slots are the most popular, because the 15-minute drive after a 3:15 pm school finish makes 3:30 pm too tight. The last session of the day starts at 6 pm (5 pm on Fridays).
