NAPLAN in March for Year 3, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 9: we secure the year's content and spend a few sessions on the format and the writing genres rather than drilling past papers.
Years 5 and 6: independent-school scholarship tests and the move to secondary school, which assumes fluent number facts, fractions and structured writing.
The Year 6 to Year 7 transition inside the same school: fewer changes than moving school, but the same jump in pace and independence.
Year 8: the selective-entry test (sat in Year 8 for Year 9 entry) for families considering it, and the Year 8 algebra and indices that Year 9 assumes.
Years 9 and 10: the acceleration in maths (linear graphs, trigonometry, quadratics) and the shift in English to analysis, ending with the Methods-versus-General decision and VCE subject selection.

Getting here from Caroline Springs: about 20 minutes by car, via Robinsons Road and Boundary Road. Secondary students often come by train (the centre is four minutes from Tarneit station); primary students are usually dropped off after school pick-up, and parking outside is free.

Our after-school window is 3:30 pm to 7 pm Monday to Thursday and 3:30 pm to 6 pm on Friday, in one-hour sessions. As a rule for families at Caroline Springs College the 4:30 pm and 5 pm slots are the most popular, because the 20-minute drive after a 3:15 pm school finish makes 3:30 pm too tight. The last session of the day starts at 6 pm (5 pm on Fridays).
