Williams Landing is a compact, newer suburb around the station, and most of its students travel out for school: to Point Cook or Truganina for primary, and to Point Cook Senior, Laverton P-12 or one of the independent schools for secondary. It is one of the closest suburbs to our centre, so afternoon in-person slots are easy to fit around school pick-up.

Year 12 tutoring for Williams Landing families

For a Williams Landing Year 12 student the question is not whether to get help but how to make the help count in the months that are left. Our Year 12 tutoring is exam-focused from the first session: each SAC gets a targeted run-up, past VCAA papers come in from mid-year, and the last month before the written exams is entirely timed practice and marking. Every tutor is subject-specific and knows the current study design.

The Year 12 timeline we work to: Term 1, secure Unit 3 content as it is taught and prepare for the first SACs with SAC-style questions two to three weeks out. Term 2, continue SAC preparation, add past VCAA exam questions by topic, and for the maths subjects build the bound reference week by week; a short GAT preparation in June. Term 3, Unit 4 SACs plus full past papers under time from August. Term 3 holidays (19 September to 4 October 2026) and October, past papers only, marked against the VCAA criteria, with a list of marks recovered each week.

We tutor seven Year 12 subjects: Methods, General, Specialist, English, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. In the maths subjects the sessions are about method, calculator technique and the bound reference; in English they are about writing to the criteria under time; in the sciences they are about answering the question asked, using the command words, and handling data and extended-response items. A Year 12 student doing two subjects with us is scheduled back to back where possible.

Year 12 tutoring is usually one-to-one at $45 an hour, because the student's needs are specific and the runway is short; small groups from $25 an hour run where three or more students are at the same point in the same subject. One session a week per subject through Terms 1 to 3, and two a week in the final month, is the pattern most Williams Landing families use. The free VCE Skills Check and consultation come first, plans are monthly and can be stopped after the exams.

Williams Landing to our Truganina centre at 17/47 Apex Drive, Truganina VIC 3029 is about 8 minutes by car, up Palmers Road, or one stop on the train to Tarneit. The centre is also about four minutes from Tarneit station, which is the easiest option for secondary students who travel on their own after school. Parking is free and directly outside the centre, which matters at 3:30 pm when you are doing a school pick-up and a tutoring drop-off in the same trip. Year 12 students often come by train after school, the centre being four minutes from Tarneit station, and take the 4:30 pm or 5 pm slot; in October we add morning and holiday sessions for Williams Landing students on study leave.

After-school sessions at the centre run from 3:30 pm to 7 pm Monday to Thursday and 3:30 pm to 6 pm on Friday. In practice most Williams Landing families take a 4 pm or 4:30 pm slot, which leaves time for the school pick-up and the 8-minute drive. Sessions are an hour, and students who arrive early sit in the quiet room and start their homework.

Frequently asked questions

Is it too late to start Year 12 tutoring mid-year?

No. From mid-year the work is past papers and SAC preparation, which is exactly where a tutor adds the most. The first session includes a free VCE Skills Check so the tutor knows which areas to prioritise.

When are the 2026 VCE exams?

The written exams run from late October into November 2026 (the English exam is first). The Term 3 holidays, 19 September to 4 October, are the last structured revision window before them, and we run extra sessions then.

Do you tutor for the GAT?

Yes, briefly: a short preparation in June covering the format and the writing tasks. The GAT does not need months of work; the subject exams do.
